Phoenix Sister Cities hosted a virtual 5K Run & Walk on February 15, 2021.
In honor of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, the virtual event kicked off in October (Eisenhower’s birth month) and ended on President’s Day 2021. Participants were encouraged to “5K Their Way,” choosing their own location, time and activity to complete 3.10 miles. Participants could also submit their 5K story and a photo to enter the 5K photo drawing for a prize. All participants who shared a 5K story were recognized in a “Wall of Fame” on the Phoenix Sister Cities website. Registration included an “I like Ike” bib and t-shirt, a face mask, access to the Virtual 5K Run & Walk Facebook Group, access to social media augmented reality 5K filters and a virtual swag bag.
